Need help with Donation of Goods for Non-Profit I am Involved With..
Every other Saturday, I go down to Chinatown to mentor a lovely, smart, and ambitious 7th grade Chinese American immigrant girl for this non-profit org called APEX. Why? As someone that has gone through high's and low's depending on the surrounding environment, I believe external factors (e.g., family background, surroundings) are perhaps as important as internal factors (talent, drive, etc) in your success. I am still "young" in terms of career development, but I want to share as much as possible, the "some" I have learned so far, and try to lead the youngster the better way, giving her confidence. And you, too, can help make a difference.
We are organizing an Annual Gala for 5/17, and we are seeking gifts to be donated for Gala Auction. Could you please let me know If you know anyone that works at retail, marketing or any other organizations with goods to donate for our benefit gala auction? Thank you! APEX (Asian Professional Extension) is group founded in 1992 that supports development of inner city Asian youth group. APEX currently has five programs serving New York City youth between the ages of ten to seventeen. Programs include middle school & high school mentoring, SAT & college prep, 4th grade prep and public-speaking. These programs are run by more than 200 active volunteers, mainly young Asian professionals. In '07, APEX guided more than 500 students by offering educational as well as social/cultural activities.
APEX's annual gala is to be held on May 17th at Rubin Museum of Art. The honorees are David Chang, the chef and Kam Mak, the illustrator.
